skipper and dishwasher

What would you do if you only had 6 months to live? Well, nobody is hurting here, you might say, but sometimes you feel like used car you owned long time ago. It still runs, but boy, does it leak oil badly. Questions of escape rattle in your brain before you drown them in the noise of the bar or shoot them dead with your TV remote.
I was cubicle creature for so long that I forgot what life could be like outside of these cages of nine to five. But there is life out there. Somewhere beyond car payments there is an adventure waiting and there are foreign places to be discovered. There are people who made the brake, that you wouldn't meet any other way. There are strange islands, mysterious underwater and that woosh of the water sliced by the bow of the boat. No cell phones, no pagers, no e-mail and no daytimer. You can even leave your in-laws behind.
Discover and follow your dreams. You shouldn't have
to wait till you're in your fifties, high blood pressure and a wad
of money to go for it, right?
About the skipper...
Maciek grew up in his native country, Poland, where
every other name ends with "ski." His childhood memories are typical
to a gray city of apartment blocks in a socialist, Eastern European
country. Elementary school saw him as an altar boy and scout leader.
In his teens he turned into antigovernment movements but manage
to finishing his high school. When Poland was shedding its socialistic
skin Maciek become involved in Christian charismatic grass-root
movement. At that time he also started his full-time employment
as a graphic designer. In 1996 he arrived to Canada and become web
designer and trained computer network specialist. In 2003 Maciek
purchased 25 foot sloop and satisfied his hunger for adventure by
taking a yearlong sabbatical and sailing East Coast, Bahamas and
Cuba, which is what this web site is all about. Upon his return
to Canada, he engaged himself in his IT consulting and graphic/web
design business (www.afterblue.com). He figures it would take him
some three more years before he can leave again. Maybe cross-Atlantic
to Mediterrenian, maybe Central America? Who knows...
